A North Carolina woman was killed Monday evening in a car accident in Mason County.

The Mason County Sheriff's Office says 49-year-old Tammy Renee Holder of Clemmons crashed her car on Poindexter Road, off of Ashton Upland Road, in the southern part of the county.

The accident occurred around 6:15 pm.

No other vehicles were involved. The Mason County Fire - Rescue team pronounced Holder dead at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.

Clemmons is a suburb of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
