A car collided with a Buncombe County school bus carrying students to Erwin High School and Erwin Middle School on Tuesday.

No students were injured, but two people in the car received minor injuries in the 7:30 a.m. wreck on Leicester Highway near the Leicester Community Center, N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper R.D. Kent said.

The wreck occurred when the bus pulled onto Leicester Highway from Green Valley Road. A white Acura traveling south on Leicester Highway then struck the bus on the left side.

Students were transferred to another bus and taken to school. Their parents were notified.

The wreck comes a week after a Jan. 12 accident in Weaverville involving a school bus skidding on an icy road. No one was injured in that wreck.

Charges against the driver of the car involved in Tuesday’s collision are possible following an investigation, Kent said.
