LEXINGTON, N.C. - Two people were killed after their car ran off a road near Lexington and crashed into a ravine early Sunday morning.

Troopers said 22-year-old Brandon Rush and 28-year-old Darrell Everhart were driving down Odell Owen Road around 4 a.m. Sunday when they lost control, hit a guardrail, struck several trees and crashed into a ravine. Troopers said the two men were killed in the accident.

According to the Highway Patrol, the two men were half-brothers.

Friends said the two men were hanging out in Thomasville on Saturday night and family members became concerned when they did not return home Sunday morning. Several friends and family members began searching for the men early Sunday.

"My sister was looking for them this morning... they've been missing all day. We actually just left Pine Top (Road) then walked to Odell Owen (Road) and found them. I'm the one that walked up on them," said a family member. The victims were found around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

The State Highway Patrol is handling the accident investigation. According to the Winston-Salem Journal, neither victim was wearing a seat belt.
