Mother, Daughter Killed in Car Accident
GREENSBORO, N.C. - A car accident on Interstate 85/40 Friday morning killed a mother and her daughter, according to North Carolina state highway patrol.
Kanesha Jackson, 30, and her daughter Najaiah, 5, died after their stopped car was hit by a cargo truck.
According to Trooper Sgt. J.R. Derdorff, Jackson was traveling from Wendell to Greensboro when she experienced mechanical issues and stopped in the right travel lane. While stopped, a 2005 International box truck struck Jackson's car, sending both vehicles onto the right shoulder.
Garret Hendrick of Warrenton, N.C. was driving the truck, and he has non life-threatening injuries.
The State Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
