Drunk Driver Accident in North Carolina

GREENSBORO, N.C. - A drunk driver tried to run from the scene after running a red light and crashing into another car late Tuesday night, police said.

Police identified the driver as Christian Maurice Contreras and said he had a Mexican ID. The occupants of the other car were not identified.

The accident took place just before midnight near Wendover Ave. and Sykes Ave. Contreras' car overturned during the crash.

Contreras and a passenger were caught and taken to Moses Cone Hospital. Both have been released from the hospital.

Police said Contreras has been charged with DWI and failing to stop.
